Gluten-Free Restaurants in Louisiana

Gluten-Free Restaurants in Louisiana

With increasing awareness of Celiac disease and other food allergens, many Louisiana restaurants are finding an increasing market niche by offering menus specifically designed to address people with food sensitivities. For many, adhering to a gluten-free diet is a way of life. Celiac sufferers need to take care not to consume foods containing wheat, barley or rye such as bread, pasta, pizza and many baked goods. But restaurants are also providing menus that allow diners in Louisiana to enjoy restaurant-quality meals while still offering a full range of gluten-free menu items to choose from.

Casamento's

Opened in 1919, Casamento's has become a New Orleans icon for its blend of Italian cooking fused with Louisiana seafood as well as the immaculately kept tile that adorns the interior and exterior of the building. Casamento's features plenty of seafood on the menu that can satisfy a craving for Cajun-style fish. Fried fish lovers can stuff themselves on the restaurant's signature seafood platter. All of Casamento's fried seafood is made with a gluten-free coating and served crisp. The platter features oysters, crab claws, catfish or trout, shrimp and French fries. Or, order items on the platter as a main entree. Crab lovers can catch a soft-shell crab entree at market price. Casamento's also features oysters on the half shell as well as grilled chicken and shrimp salads.
