However, many companies and restaurants make gluten-free dough and bread products. Brooklyn has a handful of gluten-free restaurants that cater to people with Celiac disease or who are on gluten-free diets.

Rockin' Raw

    Rockin' Raw is a New Orleans-style restaurant that specializes in raw, vegan and gluten-free dishes. Raw and live foods are easier to digest for people on gluten-free diets. Rockin' Raw serves a variety of dishes to accommodate gluten-free diets, including lentil chili, an oyster po' boy sandwich, lasagna, spicy gumbo and a burger made of raw vegetables and seeds. Appetizers, salads, sides, desserts, drinks and brunch items for gluten-free diets are also available. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from noon to 10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday, and noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is closed Monday.

Uno Chicago Grill

    Uno Chicago Grill is a restaurant located in Brooklyn that specializes in pizza, pasta, sandwiches and grilled entrees. Pala

    Pala is located just across the Brooklyn bridge in Manhattan, just a few miles from Brooklyn. The restaurant specializes in gluten-free pizza, pasta and salad dishes. It uses a dedicated fryer and other kitchen accessories to prepare its gluten-free dishes separate from its non-gluten-free dishes. Gluten-free appetizers include risotto balls, calamari and caponata. All salads, pastas and pizzas are available as gluten-free dishes, but be sure to specify that you want the gluten-free versions when you order. A variety of vegan options are also available. Pala is open Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. until midnight, Friday from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m., Saturday from noon to 1 a.m. and Sunday from noon to midnight.
