    Eat well during pregnancy. One of the best ways to return to a healthy weight quickly after pregnancy is to maintain healthy eating habits during pregnancy. Don't fall into the "eating for two" trap. You are not eating for two adults. You're eating for yourself, and for a little one that weighs 10 lbs. at its heaviest. Three well-rounded meals per day, plus two or three healthy snacks should suffice.

    Keep active during pregnancy. In addition to eating well during your pregnancy, maintaining some level of physical activity will assist greatly with weight loss after pregnancy. Unless you are on bed rest, try going for a light walk everyday. Prenatal yoga classes offer gentle stretching and strength exercises specifically for pregnant women. Also, light weight bearing exercises (like bicep curls) can still be done throughout pregnancy to keep muscles toned.

    Join a gym with child care. This will help reduce the stress of finding a babysitter. Thankfully, many gyms offer child care while you workout.

    Plan meals. It's easy to forget to eat breakfast when you have a new baby to care for, or to stuff a handful of cookies in your mouth in between diaper changes and feedings. Planning meals will help you stay focused on eating healthily. Ensure that your planned meals are healthy and provide you with enough calories and nutrients. Not starving yourself after pregnancy is just as important as not binging was during.

    Make workouts part of the routine. You can't make up for six days of laziness with one extended workout. Consistently exercising, even if it's just a little bit, will provide better results faster, and it will make you feel better, too.
