Pros & Cons of the Nutrisystem Diet

Pros & Cons of the Nutrisystem Diet

Nutrisystem designed its diet for weight-loss hopefuls who are constantly on the go and require an easy system to follow. While the Nutrisystem program provides several notable benefits, as with any diet, the program has its drawbacks.

Prepackaged Meals

Prepackaged meals provide convenience to dieters who lead busy lifestyles. All you have to do is pop your prepackaged meal in the microwave; within 3 minutes or so, dinner is done.

Customized Meal Plans

Unlike most other diets that require dieters to eat the same foods day after day, Nutrisystem provides customizable menus. You choose your daily meals through the extensive Nutrisystem menu of over 170 meal options. This prevents monotony and boredom with the program, which wards off cheating and getting off track.

Expensive Meals

According to the Nutrisystem website, dieters can order meals for the price of $11 per day. This may seem like a minimal fee, but at the end of the month the Nutrisystem program costs $330. Compared to eating out every meal, the cost is low; compared to grocery shopping, Nutrisystem is more expensive.

Portion Control

Prepackaged meals come in single-serving microwavable dishes. This eliminates measuring and calorie counting.

Maintaining Weight Loss

The Nutrisystem diet is efficient. Dieters don't have to prepare meals or shop for groceries because Nutrisystem delivers the meals to their doors. Once the Nutrisystem program is complete, dieters may have trouble maintaining weight loss because they have to count calories and plan and prepare their own meals.

Unappealing Taste

As with many prepackaged options, the taste of the Nutrisystem meals may be far from appealing for some dieters.
