Diet Food Plan That Does Not Have Soy

If you have noticed that eating soy-based products upsets your stomach and leaves you with an inability to digest, there are ways to eat a normal, healthy diet while cutting out soy-based products. In fact, a gluten-free diet may be just the thing for you.

Gluten-Free Diet Plan

Many people with Celiac disease have the misfortune of being allergic to soy. In this case, they opt for a gluten-free diet. This way of eating cuts out wheat, barley and rye due to the body's inability to digest them. Soy, usually based on a wheat product, is also eliminated.

Replacements

The gluten-free diet teaches you how to sustain a healthy balance by replacing grains with alternatives. Rice flour and potato flour can take the place of other grains in most recipes.

Furthermore, when opting for burgers, soy-based burgers must be replaced with 100-percent meat or black-bean burgers with no grain additives. Many meats, especially packaged foods, contain gluten additives. Additionally, if you have opted to go vegetarian but cannot handle soy, try seafood. If sushi is a main staple for you, try to locate wheat-free soy sauce.

Getting Nutrition

Soy milk can be replaced with rice milk. Both contain the nutrients needed to maintain a healthy diet, but rice milk contains no soy. Additionally, if you like the thickness of soy milk, almond milk is a great alternative.

Soy is in so may products that we generally eat on a daily basis: Sausages, fruit drinks, cocoa and cake mixes all contain traces of soy. It is best to consult a gluten-free cookbook or dietary guide to find suitable substitutes.
