    Working out with weights has many benefits both during the workout and after. Consider these ways a workout can help you lose body fat.

    An intense workout elevates your metabolism for up to 35 Hours after the workout, higher metabolism = more calories burned while doing nothing, a great way to lose body fat.

    One study has shown that an intense workout 3 times a week can burn an extra 2 pounds of fat just from the elevated metabolism alone. So you see, working out is a great way to lose body fat.

    Another great benefit of working out to lose body fat is adding lean muscle mass to your body. Lean muscle mass burns calories even when you aren't doing anything. Again, a great way to lose body fat! Studies have shown that adding just one pound of muscle mass adds 35 to 60 calories per day to your resting metabolism.
