Crunchy Foods With No Carbs

Crunchy Foods With No Carbs

Foods with low or no carbohydrate content are good for individuals with diabetes or for those who are on a low-carb diet to lose weight. Though a diet consisting of no carbohydrates is not healthy, snacks that have low or no carbohydrate content are a good choice for any diabetic patient. There are plenty of healthy and crunchy food choices that have no carbohydrates.

Carrots

Carrots are not only free of carbohydrates and crunchy, but they are very healthy. They contain beta carotene, which is good for the eyes and skin. Like any vegetable or fruit, carrots have vitamins and minerals that the body needs for health.

Celery

Celery is often considered a "diet food" because it is very low in calories, contains no carbohydrates and is full of water. This vegetable is crunchy, healthy and good for any type of diet. Check carbohydrate content of anything added to the celery, such as peanut butter or dressing, which might add carbohydrates to the celery inadvertently.

Lettuce

Any type of lettuce is free of carbohydrates, high in vitamins and minerals and crunchy while fresh. If the lettuce is not crunchy, it is wilted and no longer good. Using lettuce and other no carbohydrate vegetables is a great way to lose weight, limit carbs and have a healthy meal. Keep in mind that lettuce is not a long-lasting meal, so add some protein, like chicken, to the meal to make it more filling.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are not only good for minimizing dark circles under the eyes, but they are a tasty and crunchy snack that also doesn't contain carbohydrates. Cut a cucumber into slices or sticks and eat them as a snack. Like celery, be careful of anything added to the cucumber, like dressings, to avoid adding carbs inadvertently.
