Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. Many people with Celiac Disease, an inherited autoimmune disorder characterized by chronic inflammation of the small intestinal mucosa, are intolerant of gluten. The gluten-free diet of Celiac Sufferers has now become more mainstream, with many experts suggesting that a diet void of gluten will aid in weight loss.
While a gluten-free diet for weight loss is still debatable, avoiding foods with gluten a few days a week may help cleanse your intestinal system, keep you eating clean or jump start a new diet. Add this to my Recipe Box.
