Some people prefer to cut down their muscle mass to alter their physical appearance, while others might need to lose muscle due to a medical condition. In either case, losing muscle can be very dangerous and is typically not recommended by most nutritionists. Losing muscle is accomplished in nearly the same fashion as dieting to lose fat. To lose muscle fast, you must combine many techniques to get the maximum muscle loss results.

    Cut down on eating any excess calories, including lean meats and proteins. Eat more calories from carbohydrates and fats, and less calories from protein sources.

    Step up your cardiovascular routine at the gym. Doing cardiovascular exercises very often, for long stretches, and on an empty stomach can cause your body to burn excess muscle.

    Eat sporadically or infrequently. This causes your body to go into starvation mode, and burns muscle instead of fats.

    Sit or lie down at every opportunity. Sedentary habits keep our bodies in a catabolic state, which promotes the deterioration of muscle mass.
