Dieting is one of the most unpleasant activities that you can do to lose weight. However, it is also the most effective because it rejuvenates your body with healthy foods while you work to get rid of the junk that fatty foods have left you. There are several meals that are particularly good for dieting because of their high nutrition value and low presence of fatty or unhealthy substances. Add this to my Recipe Box.

    Fiber is an essential mineral needed for human functioning. It ensures that your intestines are working as they should by helping pass less favorable parts of human foods through the system. Bran cereal and granola are particularly high in fiber, as is oatmeal. Eat a healthy concentration of these three in the morning to help you lose a little natural weight. For lunch, try a veggie plate with broccoli, collard greens, spinach and mustard greens to help fiber concentration as well. Lay off the fiber a little at night to prevent unrest in the bowels when you are trying to sleep.

    Do not stray away from protein-rich foods during a diet. In fact, protein should be consumed in greater quantity when you are dieting because it helps give the body energy for exercise and movement. Eat eggs, turkey and other light poultry to give you healthy protein. However, if you are not exercising, do not consume too much protein, as it will go unused and turn into fat.

    Instead of eating fried products, try grilling things that you might normally fry. Chicken that has been grilled is very healthy because the fat gets grilled off while the juice and flavor remain intact. For chicken, stick with white meat, as it contains healthier amounts of protein and other chemicals that your body will be able to use in a meal; you can also do this with other poultry dishes. Steer clear of red meats, as they often contain bad protein and too much fat for dieting.

    Meat alone cannot sustain the body; you also need produce to supply you with all of the vitamins and minerals that you do not get from grains and meats. With every meal, you should have a veggie or a fruit of some kind to make sure that you get everything that you need. Also, eat the produce raw whenever possible, as this will ensure that all of the minerals and vitamins remain unspoiled during consumption.
